Ryerson School of Performance
Ryerson School of Performance offers full-time four-year BFAs in Acting, Dance and Production with facilities that include a proscenium stage, flexible black box studios, rehearsal rooms, dance studios, wood/ metal workshop, scenic art/drafting lab, costume workshops, and a range of other teaching spaces. Training is offered in acting, ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary dance, scenic and costume design, lighting design, sound design, technical theatre, playwriting and directing, production and stage management as well as audience relations.
Professional Association of Canadian Theatres – PACT
PACT is a member-driven organization of professional Canadian theatres which serves as the collective voice of its members. For the betterment of Canadian theatre, PACT provides leadership, national representation and a variety of programs and practical assistance to member companies, enabling members to do their own creative work.
They are a leader in the national performing arts community, and a devoted advocate for the value of live performance. Since 1979 they have focused on providing a community where theatre professionals (both artistic and administrative) can come together to discuss important issues and work together to create innovative solutions. They strive to be representative of the true breadth of professional theatre in this country, and work to make sure they are an inclusive organization that provides value for all theatre companies in Canada.
Canadian Institute of Theatre Technology – CITT
CITT/ICTS is a not-for-profit national association that actively promotes the professional development of its members and works for the betterment of the Canadian live performance community. CITT/ICTS connects the Canadian Live Performance Community and serves:
- Technicians
- Craftspeople
- Managers
- Designers
- Educators and Students
- Theatre Consultants and Architects
- Suppliers and Manufacturers
CITT/ICTS provides unique opportunities to its members to communicate, network and expand their knowledge and skills through workshops, conferences, electronic forums, and publications in the areas of technology, management, design, architecture and education for live performance in Canada.
