PM/TDArts Full Day of Sessions 2026

We’re back! Did you miss us?
We took a break after 2023 to rest and review our organizational capacity and goals. This year marks the first baby steps towards a full return. To make this return possible we are partnering with CITT/ICTS – Canadian Institute of Theatre Technology / Institut canadien des technologies scénographiques. We have programmed one day with our basic building block sessions, as a pre-cursor to their annual conference, Rendez-vous. Their annual conference moves around the country, which is something that we have always wanted to do. This year they are in Ottawa at uOttawa’s Faculty of Arts, Department of Theatre LabO Spaces.
But we are also keeping our hybrid format for which PMArts is known. This hybrid format allows for both in-person connection and networking opportunities and the inclusivity and accessibility of our virtual format. It also allows us to bring in instructors from across the country and continue to offer the majority of our courses to those unable to travel to Ottawa.
Join us in person or online on Tuesday, August 11 for 3 sessions that either start you on your management journey or hone your skills for a larger scope. In order to provide training for all experience levels there are two time slots where we will be offering two courses simultaneously on the same topic – Scheduling and Budgeting. These sessions allow people to choose the level of experience that suits their situation. For example – if you are newer to the role of PM or TD we would suggest taking Scheduling a Show or Budgeting a Show, while those who are interested in a larger scope and more complexity can consider Scheduling a Season and Budgeting a Season.
Schedule for the day **
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. = Managing People in the Performing Arts
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. = LUNCH
2 p.m. – 5 p.m. = Scheduling a Show OR Scheduling a Season
5 p.m. – 6 p.m. = DINNER
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. = Budgeting a Show OR Budgeting a Season

The return of PM/TDArts is made possible because of this partnership with CITT/ICTS. We are grateful to be include as one of their pre-conference days. Rendez-Vous runs August 12 – 14. PM/TDArts participants can benefit from the CITT/ICTS Member Price! Please contact them to receive your access code. Day passes are also available for the conference sessions and social events occurring on that day for $90 + HST per day.
