Discussion Series
In 2017, PMArts initiated a discussion forum for members of the performing arts community to unpack issues and questions. Our first discussion series Turning down the Pink Noise helped clarify the roles of SOCAN and Re:Sound in Canadian Theatre production This moderated session laid out the history and reasons behind music royalties in Canada, and provided participants with a step-by-step way to understand and deal with overlapping jurisdictions.
In 2019, PMArts collaborated with its sister organization, SMArts and TDArts to host WORK/LIFE Balance: The myth and the reality. This session brought together production managers, stage managers and technical directors to discuss concrete solutions and strategies that work on both a global stage or in our personal lives to balance these two bickering lovers.
