Azra Ross, P.Eng

Founder, Epiphany Engineering

Azra has worked in entertainment engineering for 25 years. Graduating summa cum laude in 1998 with a specialized B.Eng Scty degree (including a minor in music), she went on to gain experience in both the creative and technical side of the entertainment industry. She has worked in prop shops, automation design offices, and recording studios and now leads a talented team of engineers and partners, with similar experience in both engineering and the arts. She has worked in all stages of scenic and automation design, from conceptual through to construction.

Azra founded Epiphany in 2001 and now leads a talented team of engineers and partners, with years of experience in both the engineering and creative industries. Services range from conceptual design and feasibility studies through to construction drawings.

Epiphany Engineering’s collective backgrounds provide the team with a unique perspective on the challenges associated with melding the two worlds, and the team always endeavours to find creative, practical and cost effective solutions to ensure that the final product remains true to the artistic vision.

At Epiphany, Azra also conducts third-party reviews for variety of international clients, including early- stage peer reviews and forensic style failure analyses.

She is a versatile Engineer with 25 years experience exclusively in the entertainment industry. She has worked in all stages of scenic and automation systems design, from conceptual through to construction. Azra has worked closely with Creative and Technical teams in conceptual development of floats for Universal Studios Japan’s Spectacle Nighttime Parade.

Her creative arts education and background augments a special focus on finding innovative ways to ensure engineering solutions serve artistic intent. Azra also has a special talent for creative problem solving, troubleshooting, organization and analysis.
