Katherine Smith is an artist, production manager, and administrator with 20 years of experience in the industry. She joined the team at the Capitol Theatre (Port Hope) as the Director of Production in January 2022. At the Capitol, Katherine has built a brand new production department, supporting year-long programming at both venues in the theatre. She began her career at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre where she served as the House Technician in both venues as well as the Head Carpenter. Following that, she spent time as the Production Manager and Director of Operations at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. Most recently, she was the Festival Director for Jazz Sudbury. Throughout, Katherine has maintained an independent practice as a producer and production manager. She loves budgets, schedules, her incredible wife Kelly, and her year-old sheepadoodle, Teddy.
