Lori Marchand is a member of the Syilx (Okanagan) First Nation and has greatly contributed to the development and production of First Nations work throughout her professional career in theatre. Since graduating from UBC, she has worked in various fields, including as an Officer with the Ontario Human Rights Commission and as Executive Director of the Ontario Native Women’s Association. She was also a member of the British Columbia Arts Council from 2011-2017 and served as the Vice Chair. Marchand served as a highly respected Executive Director at Western Canada Theatre (WCT) in Kamloops, British Columbia, for 19 years. In April 2018, Marchand was appointed as the first Managing Director of the National Arts Centre’s Indigenous Theatre.
